In this video we take a look at the (now on Steam) desktop/VR game Captain Hardcore (in development) and showcase what you can do with the sandbox. We came-up with the concept of a ship tour because the game features a really nice spacecraft to mess around in (especially for VR gamers). Not only that, but it has a gameplay element of searching for planets, landing on them and either exploring or some basic first-person shooting action making it quite unique for a VR game especially.
To describe the process here, we edited the looks of every character you see here, trying not to have any duplicates. Then filled each area of the ship with a specific theme, posing and animating each character using the in-game simple tools. Voice-over was role-play ad-libbed with some added sound effects and voices (currently not in the game yet). lastly, we added some music.
Captain Hardcore is one of the few very polished VR games that offers gameplay, sandbox, adult themes and is playable without a VR headset. It’s also really easy to use. That can’t be stated enough. The game has been in development for quite some time and has a long way to go, but is pretty awesome already. What’s also neat is there is a Meta Quest version available too. So, a massive credit to developer AntiZero for accomplishing this as a solo developer.
