Halo 4 Spartan Ops – the new firefight

Firefight modes have become increasingly popular with many video games, and whilst being nothing new, serve as solid distractions from the other modes on offer.  Firefight was first introduced in Halo 3 ODST and remained in Halo Reach. Well in Halo 4 things are a bit different as Halo 4 Spartan Ops becomes the new firefight mode.  Halo 4 Spartan Ops offers similar thrills to the old school Firefight, except there’s a bit of a story thrown in for good measure and less emphasis on simply shooting waves and waves of on coming enemy forces. What’s more, the mode can be played solo or with three additional players. Having played through the first episode it’s interesting to see that more episodes are coming weekly as downloadable content in the future. But for now, the six missions on offer provide a bit more action for players who have rinsed out the 7 hour campaign. Take a look at the opening sections of Halo 4 Spartan Ops in these videos.
