Death Stranding 2: ON THE BEACH trailer – WTF?

Kojima Productions is back with a somewhat predictable announcement of Death Stranding 2 and madcap trailer to showcase more of the cinematic scenes we can expect from the sequel. The original game (which released on PS4 in November 2019), remains quite divisive among gamers, but there’s no doubt the trailer here is going to further that division. That said, given the content in the trailer it’s clear there will be more action focus now that deliveries are handled by robots.

Lead playable character Sam Bridges (Norman Reedus) obviously has other fish to fry. We’re very impressed with the Decima Engine and how it handles its character models/animations. Léa Seydoux’s character Fragile looked almost like video footage in the black-and-white moments, and let’s not talk about the meaning behind her hands mask for now. Electric Guitar like rail gun sword weapons aside, and a Metal Gear Solid Gray Fox-like cyborg ninja, we’re excited to see where this game goes. Great to see some neat variations on the more cinematic landscapes the decima handles so well (remembering this is an open-world game after all). However, for the Kojima uninitiated, the trailer surely leaves a WTF feeling.
