Operation Lovecraft VR MODE is here – REVIEW

After years of waiting, and perhaps being dropped from the project at one stage, the long-awaited native Operation lovecraft VR mode is here. It comes with the latest 0.8.5 update which adds the dormitory mode (which is where the VR action takes place). The VR mode here is most welcome, but sadly needs quite a bit of basic functionality to it. Most needed is better optimization and model reactions to touch (and no hands clipping). Hopefully developer Project Helius can works some magic.

You can play the free Operation Lovecraft demo on Steam for free and that too includes a model viewer for VR. To get the full game, you will have to sign-up as a subscriber via Patreon. We suggest the Clerk tier and cancel after one month so you only pay around £30/$29.99.

TLDW:

Pros: Environment looks really nice.

Models looks amazing in VR

Smooth turning

Cons: No proper model reaction to being touched hands clip

Teleport movement only

No possession option

Limit options overall

Performance needs work

I’d give this so far a D (not bad and a good start, but needs a ton of work to included basic VR 101 expected elements).

Score 5/10 (good inclusion, needs much work).
