Now that pre-orders of the Oculus Rift are live, the website took a beating initially but with some persistence users are able to place orders. However, there’s a huge caveat and that’s the Oculus Rift UK price. It’s now very clear why no price has been mentioned until now simply because the so called $350 ballpark that Palmer Lucky hinted at previously is nowhere near the final pricing. Wait for it… If you’re in the US region then the starting price without shipping or tax is $599 (comes to about $680 with tax and shipping) – this includes headset, sensor, Oculus Remote, cables, Xbox One Controller, EVE: Valkyrie, and Lucky’s Tale. For those in the UK this translates to £529 when shipping and tax is included which is much more than expected. Initially the website stated a March 2016 release but within moments this changed to April 2016.
