Horizon Zero Dawn VR Mod available Now, Playable in First or Third person

Developer Luke Ross (R.E.A.L. VR mods) who has already successfully brought games like GTA V, Mafia Trilogy, Red Dead Redemption 2 to VR has today just launched a Horizon Zero Dawn VR Mod. This is great news for VR fans looking for AAA content for their respective VR platform. You can support Luke and gain access to the mod via his Patreon from as little as £8. Alternatively, take a look at the Cas and Chary video showcasing the game in action. Luke also plans to release a Cyberpunk 2077 VR mod in January 2022.

Luke has this to say regarding the experimental first person viewpoint.

In the “HZD” overlay tab, you will find a checkbox named “Enable experimental 1st person camera” that I urge you to try. I’m very interested to know what you think of the implementation. It’s not perfect of course, but for me it does the trick of turning the fights against machines from an exercise in button mashing to a visceral experience. As an added bonus, I also measured young Aloy’s IPD and implemented a function that will scale the user’s IPD accordingly: so, in the levels where you play as young Aloy, the world will actually look bigger, the way it looks to a small child 🙂
