PC gamers in Japan or those in other countries who are prepared to jump through hoops to install the game can now pull and tug at the Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation girls clothing. The latest video shows this in action although as you would expect the girls aren’t exactly thrilled to be teased/touched in this way. Two things of note here though. Firstly Team Ninja/Koei Tecmo has toned down the titillating content in its forthcoming Dead or Alive 6 fighting game (the series this is based on) to help the game being taken more seriously with Western audiences. Some people might see this as a good thing and welcome it with open arms, whilst others perhaps see a double standard considering this spin-off game delves deeper into more lewd content. Secondly, this is a Japan only release and perhaps does highlight the differences in attitude between Japanese humour and those in the West where it’s likely this game would be considered promoting sexual assault if we’re looking at more extreme views.
Another interesting point to consider is perhaps the people that are concerned at the lack of titillating content in the upcoming Dead or Alive 6 might be able to get their kicks from this spin-off game if it were released in the West. This would then allow the fighting game to flourish without upsetting some of the fans. Koei Tecmo could then keep the two games separate without having to step on anyone’s toes. Yeah right! In all seriousness though, it’s highly unlikely in its current form that Dead Or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation would get a Western release, like ever. That said, a modified version might stand a chance but considering Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Fortune was never released in the West (gamers had to import) it’s unlikely this game will get the conversion.
Either way, clothes pulling is an interesting development for the game and if you’re of the disposition to try and install it outside of Japan then here’s a guide to try it courtesy of the lovely people at Dualshockers. Good luck.
