In this video we take a look at the rather cool and just released for Quest headsets, Augmented Empire, a neo noir cyberpunk themed turn-based tactical game from developer Coatsink. Phew! The mixed reality and hand-tracking in this is amazing, and if there ever was a game to showcase the Quest 3 to those who don’t gel so well with conventional VR games, then this is it. Take a look at our Augmented Empire gameplay impressions video.
“Ok, this game might be a little basic with its visuals and gameplay, but the whole diorama element in Mixed Reality is something special. Well-done to the devs for reimagining this older game for Quest 3. Graphics could be better, and there’s sometimes an issue of accidentally moving the world or pressing the action buttons by mistake when using hand-tracking, but these are easily overlooked. This game is just really cool and a great title to showcase the Quest 3 for those who don’t gel with conventional VR games. I love the fact that at any time, you can resize the scene in front of you from a tiny model to a room filling entity. It’s seamless and has to be seen to be believed. The game is fully voiced too which is fantastic, and the story seems well-made.”
