Xbox One Sky HD One Guide feature demo

Microsoft will be rolling out a new Xbox One update later this month which finally enables what American users have had from day one where the Xbox One controls a set top box for an all encompassing TV experience which does not interrupt the operation of the Xbox One games console. Gamers will be able to seamlessly power on and off their set top box and change channels as well as store favourites and use voice commands or Smartglass for navigation. ┬áThere’s also the option to do all this whilst playing a game at the same time using the snap feature. Take a look at this Xbox One SKY HD One Guide feature demo video for the full picture.

Solved a problem nobody had. I can’t ever imagine wanting to watch a TV show while playing a game. I also love the volume loud with 7.1 surround sound. None of the voice features work with the volume too high.

Well imagine playing a game whilst keeping an eye on say a football match or news bulletin where there’s no real constant need to keep an eye on the actual football/news. As one example. Or waiting for a program to begin, and have it start whilst you wrap up the game. Obviously MS feels there’s a need for the snap TV feature. The only thing missing is independent volume controls for the snap and game, and screen size adjustment.

Imagine if you will, that you could snap game and TV half screen each and then have the game audio via the Xbox One headset, and the TV audio via the TV speakers. One person could be playing the game, and the other not missing their TV show.

      Awkward!
