Warhammer End Times Vermintide Gameplay is Left 4 Dead with Rats

The Warhammer End Times Vermintide Beta is currently under way and allows gamers the chance to play three of the game’s levels. If you’re not up to speed on what’s entailed then imagine Left 4 Dead minus the zombies and instead hordes of Skaven or giant rats with human like abilities such as wielding Gatling guns and the like. It’s an enjoyable romp so far with much more promised in the final game which is being developed by Fatshark Games. We jumped in blindly today with a team of three other human players and failed to survive the opening mission with death just at the end for the entire party – mostly due to a lack of experience. We also put the solo effort through its paces with three AI controlled team mates and faired a little better on an easier setting. It’s a cool game to jump into but much like Left 4 Dead is going to be far more engaging when teaming up with human players and using Mics to communicate. Not that there’s much in the way of tactics thus far, but it does pay to share the health packs and boosts properly rather than a free for all where stuff gets wasted. The full game releases next month on October 23rd for PC (early next year on Xbox One and PS4) and we’re pleased at how its shaping up so far. It certainly has some neat visuals which give the game a dark overtone. In the mean time, take a look at our exploits in the Warhammer End Times Vermintide gameplay videos to see what you’re up against.
