The all new Open Source Virtual Reality (OSVR) headset is in prototype and looks to be a valid entry into the VR market following the lead from Oculus and Samsung with the Gear VR and Oculus Rift. The open source architecture means developers won’t need to seek approval for their works which is likely to open the floodgates for paid content most likely in the adult entertainment genre and homebrew games. Untold Games posted a demo video from the CES 2015 in Las Vegas, which showcases the very first OSVR hacker DEV KIT prototype in action shooting cubes with a tracked gun controller and full head tracking.
