The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited features a Massive 80 Gb Client

Perhaps we shouldn’t be bowled over any more by the size of games nowadays what with the forthcoming GTA V asking for at least 60 GB of disk space and many other games creeping over the 40 GB mark. However, today we received an invitation to Bethesda’s newly revised (and no fees) The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited which will be enjoying a free weekender commencing April 16th at 10am EST ending on April 20th at 10am EST. This all sounds peachy and pleasant way to sample the refinements that have been made over the original release which shipped early last year. However, there’s a caveat which is outlined a bit further than the bold claims of the email we received and that is The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited features a massive 80 Gb client download. We’re also informed that the entire download will be required to be able to play the game. We are well and truly bowled but perhaps this is the sign of the times and investing in anything less than a 1 TB hard drive and high speed internet connection is non-nonsensical unless you’re the sort who can leave these things running in the background, don’t play many games at once and are well versed in deleting older games to create some space. Whoa… 80 GB. What’s next?
