Stories: The Path Of Destinies Gameplay (PC/PS4)

Take a first look at the preview version of Stories: The Path of Destinies from Spearhead Games which is coming to the PS4 and PC later this year. It’s a colourful action role playing adventure with some tongue in cheek humour making for an entertaining ride where player choices have an effect on what comes next for our foxy hero Reynardo. Whilst the preview build is short, it plays well and looks good offering some great narration as you wander deeper into the game world against the raven enemy. As you can see in the video the preview version ends at the second choice players make, so we rewound back and selected the alternative choice available from the start of the game. This presents a new environment and further choices for Reynardo. We’re liking what we’re seeing thus far as the game runs smoothly although seems to be locked at 30 fps at the moment. For the type of game it is this is not a problem and as you can see there’s lots of colour here making for a pleasant looking game with its top down view point. Stay tuned for more details about Stories as we continue our coverage when the full game releases.

About Stories:

Stories is an action-RPG set in a vibrant fairytale universe filled with floating islands, majestic airships, and colorful magic. Reynardo, ex-pirate and unintentional hero, suddenly becomes the last line of the defense against the mad Emperor and his countless ravens. Can he come up with a plan that won’t blow up in his face, for a change?

In Stories, each choice you make takes Reynardo into a unique narrative. From tongue-in-cheek takes on heroic adventures to dark, Lovecraftian scenes, Stories’ repertoire is as diverse as it is action-packed. But Reynardo’s fateful decisions won’t always come easy: Sometimes retrieving a weapon lost at the beginning of time means sacrificing the life of an old friend.
