Ride to Hell Retribution sex scenes pale in comparison to violence

Ride to Hell Retribution might have slipped under the radar for many gamers, but it still hasn’t meant the  game is muzzled in any way. Featuring a rock hard ex soldier fighting the battles of the brutal streets, Ride to Hell Retribution offers a dose of combat and driving skills. This video showcases some of the Ride to Hell Retribution sex scenes, if you can call them that. Aside from the characters remaining fully clothed throughout, it’s another example of warped standards, where brutal and graphic violence is permitted in excess within the game including sliced necks, stabbings, shootings and headbutts, but sexual content isn’t. Well it is as long as the participants are obviously fully clothed. This is an embarrassment for  gaming simply because if you’re going to include sex scenes in a Mature game, then at least put some effort into making them believable – something other games have managed without issue.

Here’s the ESRB overview of the game:

Blood and Gore, Drug Reference, Intense Violence, Partial Nudity, Sexual Content, Strong Language

Rating Summary:

This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of a Vietnam veteran seeking revenge on a biker gang that killed his brother. Players use machine guns, pistols, shotguns, and melee weapons (e.g., crowbars, knives, wrenches) to kill human enemies. Combat is accompanied by screams of pain, realistic gunfire, and slow-motion effects. Rage attacks can be used to inflict more severe damage, depicting close-up views of enemies pummeled or stabbed. Players can also use objects in the environment to perform attacks (e.g., throwing enemies into rotating blades, slamming enemies’ heads against walls). Large blood-splatter effects occur frequently. One cinematic cutscene depicts a prolonged scene involving a dismembered human finger; another cutscene depicts a man shot in the knees and groin before being killed. During the course of the game, defeated enemies sometimes leave cash and small bags of drugs behind; players are permitted to sell the drugs to dealers for cash; the dialogue also references drugs (e.g., “I know my weed from my weed” and “I’ll set you up with . . . dope.”). A handful of cutscenes depict fully clothed characters engaging in sexual acts; in one sequence, two women perform fellatio on the central character—the camera cuts away from the act. The game also includes a strip-club setting in which a topless pole dancer appears (‘pasties’ cover her nipples). The words “f**k,” “sh*t,” and “c*cksucker” can be heard in dialogue.
