Project Haven Gameplay Demo 4K – RTX 3090

Here is a look at a couple of missions from the rather cool turn-based strategy game, Project Haven from developers Code Three Fifty One. You can try the demo right now via Steam as part of its Next Fest. The game is unique in that it has a mechanic where you can manually aim your shots putting players closer to the action compared to other games in the genre.

Project Haven is a squad tactics game set on the mean streets of Earth’s last city. Lead the Steel Dragons—a mismatched mercenary crew—on high-risk missions, invest in equipment and stay ahead of the game one bullet at a time. Play the story solo or co-op, plus procedural skirmishes for 1-4 players.

ABOUT Project Haven:

You command the Steel Dragons, a mercenary outfit fighting for survival in the harsh, urban near-future that is Haven City. Select and control squads of mercs as they battle gangsters, rival mercs and corrupt government forces in a bid to make ends meet, and make a difference where you can. Manage your crew’s stats and gear, wrangle a diverse range of merc personalities, and conquer the deep tactical elements that make Project Haven a standalone turn-based combat experience.

You will have at your disposal a variety of mission types and challenges and once a contract is accepted, it’s up to you to select, equip and control your squad of mercs in order to achieve the mission goals. You will have the option to explore different fighting styles using a combination of equipment, attributes, specializations and skills against handcrafted enemies and environments that cater to multiple tactics.

-Aim freely at your enemies with simulated projectiles. All this from a 3rd person view. With the modular damage feature, you can wing your enemy to reduce their accuracy, shoot them in the legs to slow their movement or go for sweet extra damage with a headshot.

-Hunker down or lean into cover. Use stealth to avoid detection. Throw grenades or heal your mercs. Hack locks or demolish walls to get to your enemies. And all the while the mercs have free movement, navigating without restrictive square or hex grids.

-As events unfold, learn the harsh realities of a seething megacity full of desperation and dark secrets. Witness the gritty lives of mercs and NPCs, and experience a story-driven campaign with fully voiced and motion-captured characters and cinematics.

-Command a group of mercenaries, each with their own unique personality and attitude towards each other. Improve their attributes and unlock new skills as they gain experience and level up.

-Magazine management, chambered bullets, and different types of ammo for different situations. Calibers and ammunition types affect how far and how well projectiles penetrate and damage the target.

-Play solo or in co-op up to 4 players through the turn-based online co-op campaign mode, or skirmish in procedurally generated maps, fighting against friends or AI.
