Playstation VR Gets a Global Price Cut

Sony Interactive Entertainment has today announced that its PlayStation VR (PSVR head-mounted display) PlayStation Camera Bundle will be available at a new RRP of 34,980 yen, $299 USD and €299/£259.99 down from the currently available price of 44,980 yen, $399 USD and €399/£349.99 respectively starting March 29th, 2018. To put in perspective, the Oculus Rift with Touch controllers and sensors currently ships at £399.99 but does require a reasonably competent PC to run it.

Since the PSVR launched back in October 2016 there are now approximately 300 PSVR software titles and experiences available for the device. PS VR will continue to expand with highly anticipated launches on their way including Blood & Truth, WipEout Omega Collection and Firewall Zero Hour (SIE WWS), The Persistence (Firesprite Ltd), Star Child (Playful Corp), Eden Tomorrow (Soul Pix), Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality (Adult Swim Games) and Smash Hit Plunder (Triangular Pixels) in addition to VR experiences such as Virry Safari: Wild Encounters (Fountain Digital) and CoolpaintrVR (Sngular). With the attractive new price point, SIE will further expand the PS VR platform along with the great line-up of exciting VR games and revolutionary experiences, delivering PlayStation® as the best place to play to users worldwide.
