Petition to get the original Xbox One features back launches

Whilst Microsoft’s u-turn on its Xbox One policy may have pleased some, others were quite comfortable with the idea of DRM and Always Online systems and have made a petition for Microsoft to bring those features back, which we suspect will happen at some point anyway.

The petition statement reads:

This was to be the future of entertainment. A new wave of gaming where you could buy games digitally, then trade, share or sell those digital licenses. Essentially, it was Steam for Xbox. But consumers were uninformed, and railed against it, and it was taken away because Sony took advantage of consumers uncertainty.

We want this back. It can’t be all or nothing, there must be a compromise.

It also appears that Major Nelson has added his two pennies if it’s a genuine post. He comments.

Hey Gang:

Good to see some community outreach taking place here. Just wanted to mention that we are actively listening to feedback from our users and your comments here are indeed being parsed and I will certainly do my best to share your sentiments with my compatriots and those higher up on the ladder to help inform their decisions.

Kudos to all for being true ‘agents of change.’ In the darkness a single candle flame can provide the illumination needed to find the path to truth. I am humbled to be surrounded by so many paths of guiding light here.

cheers,

MajorNelson
