No Man’s Sky PC Looks Fantastic in 4K

Performance issues aside from the many complaints of Steam PC users, Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky PC version is a absolute joy to behold when bumping up the resolution to 4K putting the PS4 release to shame in the visual department (as expected). Being able to play at 60 FPS (or thereabouts) gives the game a much smoother gameplay operation and is clearly the best way to experience the open universe sandbox play. Take a look at these two videos which show the game running using a GTX 1080 Founders Edition (stock) with the game at maximum settings (anti aliasing off). You can see dips in the performance but turning vsync off seems to provide better results. The question remains is whether any new Playstation 4 console such as the rumoured Playstation 4 Neo will be able to increase the resolution at all for this game because looking at the videos it’s certainly worth it.

That said, it’s not all plain sailing in the PC camp, as mentioned there’s a massive divide looking at the Steam user reviews as many players are experiencing, crashing and performance issues when playing. Even with our top spec graphics card we the framerate jumps about quite a lot before seemingly stabilizing a little. Hopefully Hello Games can sort out these issues so that gamers using lower spec systems can have a smoother gameplay experience.
