Nintendo just announced a new handheld device for gamers looking to jump into the Nintendo 3DS without the 3D with the arrival of the Nintendo 2Ds coming October 11th. It seems like an unusual move considering the 3D element of the 3DS is quite a neat feature, but understandably, not suitable for the under 7s or those who can’t view 3D content. That said, the 3DS is able to switch the 3D off at any time, so it’s likely, the 2Ds is simply a cheaper to manufacture version. Check out the trailer and be sure to here some officialdom in this interview which sheds much light on Nintendo’s desire, to have a 3DS style system out there around the $100 mark.
