Microsoft sees substantial Xbox One gains in NA

Microsoft recently announced that they were on the cusp of reaching the 13 million Xbox One consoles being shipped to retailers worldwide which means their overall sales of the Xbox One are pretty good for its first year. What with Sony’s dominance in the European territories, Microsoft has gone all aggressive on its home turf with a $50 price cut promotion alongside some great exclusive titles such as Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive and Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Throw in leading sales of the multiplatform Call of Duty Advanced Warfare and you’ve got some excellent incentives for NA consumers to jump in. Recently released approximate figures from VGChartz suggest that Microsoft has seen a 214% gain over last week in sales throughout the NA region shifting some 286K units to retailers. Next to Sony’s 140K Units a turn around looks possible with the PS4 sporting an approximate 1 million lead in the region. With the holiday season fast approaching it will be interesting to see which way consumers will sway when faced with two very similar consoles.
