Metal Gear Solid 2 versus Battlefield 4 Graphics – The 12 year difference

We take a look at the difference 12 years can make in terms of expectations of graphics and how far developers have come with what they can and can’t include within our beloved video games. From 2001 Konami’s Metal Gear Solid 2 on the PS2 was a benchmark game when it came to graphics and cinematic direction, with many elements wowing gamers back then that now are commonplace and wouldn’t raise an eyebrow.  We compare two scenes from the HD version of Metal Gear Solid 2 with the more recent 2013 release of Battlefield 4. These are two very different games, but in the instances shown, they both present similar locations which provide suitable elements for comparison.
