We’ve been happily enjoying the recently released Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain in glorious 4K running the game at near maximum settings (minus some post-processing effects) and still getting a pretty smooth 60 frames per second. It’s one hell of a well optimized game as we’re getting better performance here than we did with Ground Zeroes last year. We’ve captured some rather neat moments in 4K which have to be seen to be believed especially if you’re lucky enough to own a 4K monitor or TV set (they are much cheaper to purchase nowadays). We’ve included a folder which contains a selection of images as well as samples uploaded here. Naturally you’re going to lose a lot of the finer detail viewing these on a regular 1080p screen but at least they show how well the Fox engine holds up. Simply click the images below to see the full 4K image open in a new tab/window.
