The Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 exclusive Halo Spartan Assault is now available for $6.99 worldwide.

Developed by 343 Industries in conjunction with Vanguard Games, “Halo: Spartan Assault” is a new, top-down shooter that has been optimized for Windows 8 touch-based devices, and delivers a brand-new chapter in the “Halo” universe.  “Halo: Spartan Assault” explores the origins of the Spartan Ops program through the eyes of either Commander Sarah Palmer or Spartan Davis, and provides a deeper look at the backstory of the Human-Covenant War.
343 Industries has shared some details about their partnership with Dark Horse Comics on the three part comic series, “Halo: Initiation,”that reveals how Commander Sarah Palmer became a Spartan-IV. A digital preview of the comic is available here.
