Halo 4 sees record breaking week one revenue

Microsoft has today released some numbers pertaining to last week’s launch of Halo 4. Apparently Halo 4 has seen some record breaking revenue for its first week amassing some $220 million sales revenue worldwide in the first 24 hours of being on sale. It’s expected to reach $300 million for the first week eclipsing opening revenue in US box office records for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” and the biggest movie of 2012, “The Avengers Assemble” – based on U.S. sales alone.

More numbers, and lifetime Halo franchise sales have reached over $3.38 billion whereas Halo 4’s multiplayer audience was a massive 4 million in the first five days. Users spent a total of 31.4 million hours playing “Halo 4,” pushing the total number of gameplay hours across the “Halo” franchise well beyond the five billion mark
