Ubisoft released the PC version of Far Cry Primal yesterday and one of the benefits is being able to ramp up the resolution beyond the console maximum of 1080p up to 2160p or 4K. The results are pretty special highlighting much more detail and a more organic looking game. However, it’s pretty resource hungry and running the game in 4K using the Ultra pre-set and turning off anti-aliasing means we were only able to maintain a steady 30 frames per second using our GTX 980 Ti graphics card. Still, this is quite comfortable and with the increase in visual acuity is not such a hardship. Take a look at our Far Cry Primal 4K gameplay video which shows some of the opening section looking mighty fine.
