Xbox One and the PS4 come complete with a 500Gb Hard Disc Drive which on the surface might sound a lot, but in practice is not as encompassing as it may seem. What with game file sizes being far greater than they used to be last gen and the fact that now we have to install all our games means the space gets used up pretty fast. This is the digital future we’re living in now as more games become available as digital only releases and retail outlets no longer having the firm grip on new releases they once had. Well, less than six months into the PS4 and Xbox One’s life and already we’re encountering reshuffling of our digital content. PS4 owners have some greater flexibility as they can manually install another hard drive to increase storage space – although ours is far from being filled at the moment. Xbox One gamers can’t do that at present but will be able to add an external HDD in the future. So, as it stands we’ve come to a crossroads with our Xbox One which is a scenario faced by any gamer who owns either console and doesn’t want to delve into additional pieces of hardware. Our HDD is full and needs to have content deleted to make room for new stuff. Take a look at the video to get the full picture which highlights that in Microsoft’s case, they could do a better job of making the process a bit more user friendly.
