Gunfire Games’ once Oculus VR exclusive souls-lite action game Chronos, comes to PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC via Steam on December 3rd 2020. Make way for Chronos Before the Ashes a game set within the same universe as Remnant From the Ashes. The transition to 2D works very well, and maintains its cool atmosphere. However, if we’re given the choice, the original VR version wins hands-down for its sheer sense of scale you can only really appreciate in VR. That’s not to say the flat-screen version isn’t worth checking out. It is, as you can see in this Chronos Before the Ashes gameplay video showing the opening 50 minutes or so on PC.

Chronos Before the Ashes is an atmospheric RPG that chronicles a hero’s lifelong quest to save their homeland from a great evil. Grow wiser, stronger and more powerful as you explore the depths of the mysterious labyrinth. But beware, the labyrinth takes a heavy toll – each time your hero dies, they lose a year of their life!
