Stonepunk Studios released their action packed full-on side scrolling VR shooter RollerGirls From Beyond via Steam Early Access. It’s playable on the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive and has you take control of four themed ladies who are tasked with saving cows from an alien invasion. It’s a colourful assault on the senses with a thumping soundtrack full of break-beats and splashes of colour fused with crazy scenes. The side-on view means it’s easy to play and what’s neat is being able to swap between the four girls, that’s Sugar, Mint, Ice and Ginger (no not the Spice Girls), on the fly to make use of their unique abilities. You’ll also have to use combo attacks against specific enemies so for example, freeze gnarly alien scum with Ice then follow up the attack with Sugar to make light work.

It’s a cool little game so far placing players in various scenes including riding motocycles and a bit of surfing to name but a few scenarios. If you’re after a game which is pure arcade action then this is well worth keeping an eye on. It’s currently priced at £10.99 on Steam but there’s enough content here to make it a worthwhile purchase and with the developer looking to update and improve the game means there’s more to come.
