Microsoft’s Best Games on Xbox One – are they enough to warrant a purchase?

Microsoft has taken a lot of heat over the last few months – ever since revealing their new console – and appearing to be adaptable with regards to what its consumers require (that’s putting it politely). Some consider Microsoft’s changing tides as a sign of uncertainty and purely in response to Sony, but what has remained pretty steadfast is the company’s commitment to providing games, and let’s be honest here, the Xbox One will primarily be used for playing video games for most people.

Sony took to the stage at E3 2013 and trashed Microsoft with its PS4, not only with its competitive pricing, but the policies which seemed to resonate well with the core element of gamers, despite not really changing anything from what gamers have now.  It seemed Sony took the advantage and used spoof videos and Jack Tretton himself making reference to the competition in an almost, school playground, and perhaps unnecessary manner. Whilst looking controversial for headlines sake at the time, since then, there’s not been too much interplay between the two companies, other than key figures naturally showing interest in the competition’s wares.

Microsoft it seems, has entered the fray with some bold claims, suggesting that the best games are on Xbox One. To the point of releasing a trailer with such a tag line. Is this necessary, can gamers not make up their own minds, or is this simply an excuse to showcase another mash up trailer?

The trailer breaks down to the following components which you can either agree with its sentiment or not. Is the proposed offering enough to warrant a purchase of the Xbox One over the competition if you can’t afford both systems? Either way, it’s interesting that Microsoft has resorted to these sorts of approaches when talking about its games. The heat is rising, and come November and beyond, the competition is going to be rather fierce.
