All is good for NBA 2K13 as it sees rising popularity

2K Sports recently announced some impressive record breaking sales for the latest in their NBA 2K series of basketball games. NBA 2K13 has sold more than 49 per cent more in its opening week of sale compared to the series’ previous record holder (NBA 2K 11). 2K believes the growth is due in part to the expanding global popularity of the NBA 2K brand, which accounted for a 66 percent increase in international sales when  compared with NBA 2K11 according to 2K’s internal estimates.

More figures also suggest gamers are spending more time online with the latest game as it has seen a 127 per cent increase in played games compared to last year’s figures – again, based on internal estimated numbers.

The game is available now across multiple formats and a Wii U version is due for release on November 30th.
